Forty-seven "suppressives" turned up in East Grinstead for the IAS bash, back in the UK after a covid hiatus.

"Apostate Alex" had performed miracles of organising and after a rendezvous at an East Grinstead pub at 2:00, we set off at 2:30 on foot towards Saint Hill Manor.

The police had arranged a complex systm which alternately blocked the road to marchers and road traffic. We finally established ourselves on both sides of the road a little past the entrance and the Scientologists (apart from Tom Cruise who arrived by helicopter) had to listen to our slogans and read our placards as they went past on foot or by car (and the cars went past at less than walking pace). By about 6:00 it was getting dark and the traffic flow was easing so we returned to the East Grinstead pub.

The main event is held on Friday, but there are activities on the Saturday ("Patron's Day" for the rich to donate ludicrous amounts, and receive tacky trophies)and Sunday. For the first time, those were picketed as well - taxis out to the gate rather than marching.
